Nikola Tesla Quotes - Interesting, Scientific, Inspiring, Interesting Thoughts of Famous Serbian-American Inventor, Electrical, Mechanical Engineer, Rich to Pauper, Telephony Developer
Nikola Tesla was born on 10 July 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia. Extremely talented, hardworking Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist. He is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) power supply system. Tesla first studied engineering and physics in the 1870s without receiving any degree. He conducted groundbreaking experiments in telephony and new electrical energy at Continental Edison in the early 1880s. He worked for a while at the Edison Machine Works in New York City, after which he started his own business. With the help of partners to finance and market his ideas, Tesla set up laboratories and companies in New York, where he developed a variety of electrical and mechanical devices. His AC induction motor and related polyphase AC patents (licensed by Westinghouse Electric in 1888) brought him considerable wealth and became the cornerstone of the polyphase system that that company marketed.
Nikola Tesla conducted many experiments with mechanical oscillators, generators, electrical discharge tubes, and early X-ray imaging. He also built a wirelessly controlled boat. In 1893 he made announcements on the possibility of wireless communication with his devices. Tesla tried to put these ideas to practical use in his unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project, a transcontinental wireless communication and power transmitter, but Tesla became penniless before he could complete it. Tesla experimented with many inventions with varying success in the 1910s and 1920s. After spending most of his money Tesla stayed at several New York hotels and left without paying. He died in New York City in January 1943. In 1960, the General Conference on Weights and Measures named the International System of Units (SI) measure of magnetic flux density Tesla in his honor.
Nikola Tesla is extremely important in the development of science and technology. Tesla inspires and delights the whole world. He did such work in science and technology, which the world is benefiting from and his contribution can never be underestimated. Tesla's birthday, July 10, is celebrated by some people as World Tesla Day, Nikola Tesla Day or simply Tesla Day. Many organizations informally celebrate Tesla Day on July 10. The Tesla Memorial Society wrote letters to many officials requesting to celebrate July 10 as International Nikola Tesla Day. In Serbia, July 10 is celebrated as National Science Day. In Croatia it is called Nikola Tesla Day. In Niagara Falls, Canada, it is designated as Nikola Tesla Day. The local teachers' union in Serbia's autonomous province of Vojvodina also officially celebrates July 10 as Nikola Tesla Day. In terms of science, the Tesla celebration runs for seven days from July 4 to July 10. Google honored Tesla on his birthday on July 10, 2009 by displaying a Google Doodle on the Google search home page, showing G as a Tesla coil. Also significant is that on January 7, 2021 (January 7 is both Orthodox Christmas Day and Nikola Tesla's death anniversary) the Tesla Science Foundation Serbia sent a petition to the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, proposing that the Synod consider canonizing Nikola Tesla on his birthday, July 10, as his feast day and recording Tesla as an Orthodox saint.
Here are some interesting, science-minded, naturalistic, inspiring, profound, exemplary thoughts of Nikola Tesla -
If you want to know the mysteries of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.
I don't care that they stole my idea. I care that they have no idea of their own.
I am credited with being one of the hardest workers and perhaps I am, if thought is equivalent to labor, for I have devoted nearly all of my waking hours to it. But if work is interpreted as a certain performance in a specified time according to a rigid rule, I may be the worst lazy person.
The gift of mental power comes from God, the Divine Being, and if we focus our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power. My mother taught me to seek all truth in the Bible.
You may live to see man-made horrors beyond your understanding.
Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments and they wander about in equation after equation, and eventually produce a structure that has no relation to reality.
Invention is the most important product of man's creative mind. The ultimate aim is the complete mastery of the mind over the material world, the adaptation of human nature to human needs.
We yearn for new sensations, but soon become indifferent to them. The miracles of yesterday are common occurrences today. What one man calls God, another calls the laws of physics. If you only knew the magnificence of 3, 6 and 9 you would have the key to the universe. Life is and always will be an equation which cannot be solved, but which involves certain known factors.
Whatever was great in the past has been ridiculed, condemned, fought against, repressed, only to emerge from the struggle more powerful and more triumphant.
Let the future tell the truth and judge each man according to his work and achievements. The present is theirs, the future, for which I have really worked, is mine. Our virtues and our shortcomings are inseparable like force and matter. When they are separated man ceases to be man.
To think clearly one must be sane but even if one thinks deeply one can be absolutely insane.
I do not think there can be any excitement in the mind of an inventor like that which he feels when he sees a creation of the mind moving towards success...Such feelings make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.
What we want now is closer contact and better understanding between individuals and communities all over the earth and the elimination of egoism and pride, which always tend to plunge the world into primitive barbarism and conflict, peace can only come as a natural consequence of universal enlightenment.
I do not think you can name many great inventions made by married men.
If your hatred could be converted into electricity, it would light up the whole world.
The present is theirs; the future, for which I really worked, is mine.
My brain is only a receiver, a core in the universe from which we draw knowledge, power and inspiration. I have not delved into the mysteries of this origin, but I know it exists.
Be alone, that is the secret of invention, be alone, only then ideas are born
Today's scientists think deeply rather than clearly.
The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena it will make more progress in a decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.
Of all things I liked books best.
Imagine a world where the indomitable power of nature is used not for destruction, but for the betterment of humanity.
