1790 Benjamin Franklin died. As a mark of respect, his photograph was printed on the 100 dollar note. He was a prominent American politician, philosopher and journalist, but the whole world knows him as a scientist. Franklin was also one of the five people who drafted the American Declaration of Independence. Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, America. His father made and sold soap and candles. Franklin had 17 brothers and sisters. He made many inventions, but among them the lightning conductor is the most famous.
