Interesting, informative, thought-provoking and entertaining statements of world famous biologist Charles Darwin

Famous biologist Charles Darwin, born in England on 12 February 1809, died on 19 April 1882. Charles Darwin's book Origin of Species, published in 1859, presented a new perspective on the world. Darwin, who gave important theories in biology, is known for his fundamental theories about the origin of life. The theories given by Darwin about the beginning and development of life on Earth, based on scientific viewpoint and facts, changed many popular notions and beliefs.

Man chooses only for his own good, nature only for the creature she nurtures.

There is nothing easier than accepting in words the truth of the universal struggle for life, or more difficult than keeping this conclusion constantly in the mind - at least I have found so.

We may allow the satellites, the planets, the suns, the universe, nay, the entire systems of the universe to be governed by laws, but to the smallest insect, we wish to be instantly created by special act.

As man advances in civilization, and small tribes unite into large communities, the simplest reason will tell each individual that he should extend his social instincts and sympathies to all the members of the same nation, even if He may be unknown to them personally. Once this point is reached, there is only an artificial barrier to prevent them from increasing their empathy towards people of all nations and races.

However, we must admit that, as I think, that man with all his great qualities... still bears in his physical frame the indelible mark of his low origin.

In addition to love and empathy, animals exhibit other qualities associated with social instincts that we would call moral.

But today I am very spoiled and very stupid and I hate everyone and everything. Man lives only to make mistakes.

There is grandeur in this view of life with its many forces originally breathed into some form or into one and that while this planet is moving cycles according to the fixed law of gravity, from such simple beginnings to the most beautiful and Innumerable forms of the most wonderful have evolved, and are continuing to evolve.

The highest possible step in moral culture is when we recognize that we must control our thoughts.

The mystery of the beginning of all things is insoluble for us and I must be content to remain an agnostic.

Intelligence is based on how efficient a species has become at performing the tasks necessary to survive.

If I had to live my life over again, I would make it a rule to read some poetry and listen to some music at least once every week.

The person who dares to waste even an hour of time does not know the value of life.

Blushing is the strangest and most human of all expressions.

Ignorance breeds confidence more often than knowledge. It is those who know less, not those who know more, who so positively claim that this or that problem will never be solved by science.

An American monkey, after becoming intoxicated with brandy, never touches it again, and is thus more intelligent than most humans.

If the suffering of the poor is not caused by the laws of nature, but by our institutions, then it is our sin.

We stopped looking for demons under our beds when we realized they were inside us.

A general rule, which leads to the progress of all organic beings, i.e. multiply, vary, let the strongest survive and the weakest die.

Love towards all living beings is the greatest quality of man.

I am not capable of blindly following other people's lead.

It is not the strongest of the species to survive.

The most intelligent person does not survive.

It is he who is most amenable to change.

Over the long history of mankind (and animal species too), those who have learned to cooperate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.

As far as future life is concerned, each individual must decide for himself among conflicting and vague possibilities.

Ignorance more often breeds self-confidence than knowledge It is those who know less, and not those who know more, who so positively claim that this or that problem will never be solved by science.
