Inspirational, thoughtful, entertaining statements of world famous British playwright, thinker, poet William Shakespeare
On April 23, 1616, world famous and top playwright, thinker, poet William Shakespeare died in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. His plays influenced the world. His works were translated into languages around the world. Keeping in mind the occasion of his birthday, World Book Day was started. Here are some of his thoughts.
Dear Brutus, the fault is not in our stars, but in us.
My only love stems from my only hate!
Seen the unknown too early, and go too late!
This is a wonderful birth of love for me,
That I should love my hated enemy.
Don't waste your love on someone who doesn't appreciate it.
Oh Lord, how foolish these men are!
I like this place and I can willingly waste my time in it.
Stars, hide your fire, do not give light to my dark and dark desires.
With the prick of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
My tongue will reveal the anger in my heart, otherwise my heart that hides it will be broken.
you talk endlessly
Words are easy, like the wind, loyal friends are hard to find.
We know what we are, but not what we can be.
Our destiny lies not in the stars but in us.
Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
Don't be afraid of greatness. Some people are born great, some achieve greatness, and greatness is thrust upon others.
Love is seen through the mind and not through the eyes, and hence the winged Cupid is painted blind. Nor does love have the taste for any decision in its mind. Not having wings and eyes is a symbol of careless haste and hence love is called a child, because it is often deceived in its choices.
A fool considers himself wise, but a wise man considers himself a fool.
Doubt that the stars are fire,
Doubt that the sun will move,
To doubt the truth, to be a liar,
But never doubt that I love.
Our doubts are traitors, and by being afraid to try we lose the good we might often win.
Above all, stay true to yourself.
Self-love, in my opinion, is not as odious a sin as self-neglect.
-William Shakespeare
